八仙塵爆事件造成重大傷患目前還在醫院與死神搏鬥，新北市各宗教團體發揮大愛，昨(六)日包括竹林山觀音寺、板橋慈惠宮、蘆洲湧蓮寺等三十間宮廟，共同捐贈總額將近八千萬善款，由副市長侯友宜代表市府接受，並頒贈感謝狀，侯友宜也表示，此次捐款總額打破過去新北市宗教團體針對災害捐贈的紀錄。
侯友宜說，八仙塵爆造成傷患人數眾多，未來還有很長的復健之路，感謝所有宗教團體發揮大愛捐款，市府將專款專用，全數使用在傷患後續的復原工作。
民政局長江俊霆說明，八仙意外發生後，相當多的宗教團體主動來電，表明願意捐款助傷者，目前總共有三十間宮廟，善款總額高達七千七百八十二萬，江俊霆說，包括竹林山觀音寺捐贈一千六百萬，湧蓮寺、慈惠宮、新莊地藏庵都各別捐贈超過一千萬，接雲寺、大觀書社、義天宮、中國佛教總會則捐贈數百萬不等。
竹林山觀音寺董事長吳宗雄表示，這次傷者皆是年輕孩子，日後復健照護更是不易，希望藉此舉拋磚引玉，鼓勵更多宗教團體捐款助八仙塵爆傷患。
